MarketOne Builders, Inc. was the successful bidder on Williams Communicationsí Sacramento Point of Presence (POP).This 22,500 square foot renovation consisted of the demolition of all the existing structure except for the four existing tilt-up walls.Similar to many current telecommunication facilities, the location of this project was the deciding factor and the renovation of an existing building is quicker than constructing a new facility out of the ground.The Sacramento POP will connect Williamsí fiber run from Southern California to Salt Lake City and complete their West Coast long-haul backbone.Understandably, this facility needed to be constructed under very tight timeframes and given the release date of the permit, MarketOne Builders will deliver this project on time.The renovation project included all new foundations, steel substructure, slab-on-grade, roof structure, communication vaults, 3,000-amp service with a 2.0 meg generator for emergency back up.
